FRANK WILKS began his career as a solo musician in the mid seventies playing small clubs in Toronto and most of Ontario. Then in 1984 Frank met up with music hall of fame bass player, Bruce Palmer of the “Buffalo Springfield”. Becoming fast friends, Frank and Bruce formed the “Buffalo Springfield Revisited”. Also hall of fame drummer, Dewey Martin was brought up from California to prepare for an American tour as “Buffalo Springfield Revisited”. This band toured for six years. Frank shared the stage with artists like, The Band, John Sebastian (Loving Spoonfull),Skunk Baxter (Doobie Brothers), Spencer Davis Band. Frank was on the “Jerry Lewis Telethon” at Ceasers Palace Vegas live on international TV.
In 1992 Frank Wilks returned from LA to Toronto and formed a band called “White Buffalo”. A few years later “Big Medicine” was put together and made a CD with the band name for a title. The song “Nairobi”, written by Frank Wilks, was made into a video and is on “Much Music” still!
In the year 2000 Mr. Wilks started his "Frank Wilks Band" and he also produced a solo CD called “Raise My Spirit Away” with a number of Toronto musicians. The following years Frank has produced “Walk To Your Own Beat”, “Frank Wilks and Buffalo Springfield Revisited Live 89” and “I Am Not Neil Young, The Musical”, soundtrack.
"I Am Not Neil Young" is a musical play, that was co-written and is performed by Frank Wilks. The musical toured in the Fringe Festivals in Windsor, London and Hamilton in 2008 and in Toronto in 2009. Also in 2009 Frank Wilks “Folk Unplugged CD” was released and in 2010 "The Best Of Frank Wilks"! That makes SEVEN CD'S that Frank Wilks has produced under his own DOGFISH Publishing company.
